But there was another thing what was bothering me for a while. The lack of respect to the moderators and first members. This forum has become larger and larger and some people judgde(d) decisions in editing posts, while they do their utmost best to keep it fun for everyone.
You guys crack me up who think this way. Have you EVER been in another message board? The mod's here are not thin skinned and are very confident in what they do. No individual is going to come in here and take over, not gonna happen. While this forum has grown, it doesn't need mod police and IMO, it is one of the tamest, more focused forums on the Net. 90% of the talk is drums. The other 10% is fun rants and raves that are constructive IMO. I love a topic on Buddy that goes for six pages. So be it.

I think it'd be super cool if we could get one of those 'view new posts' buttons and 'new post' icons. Most boards have them now, and when you click on them, they take you to the first new post on that thread that you haven't read. It'll save everybody time, especially in those longer threads.
I'm not a fan of sub-categories in forums, sorry.
Also on the main forum page, it says the name of the person who posted the last response. If you click their name, it takes you to their post.
Also newly replied to posts are always bumped to the top. Plus you can see how many replies there are, so you know if there's more then when you were last reading that topic.

I took this to mean that you thought some were taking pot shots at the mods by not respecting them. Was I wrong?
My point 1 was...the mods are fine. Nobody is coming into HOD and take over. The mods aren't thin skinned...they can take critique and are fair in their evalutations of some who might go too far left or right.
My point 2 (more subtle) was that I've felt a pattern of those who are newer in HOD to feel things have gotten too rant'in and rav'in as of late with a few topics. Think back about 2-3 weeks ago. There were several posts that said we all need to get back to drumming and be nice and all.
My response has been consistent stating I liked discussion with depth and that this is a rare opportunity to explore way beyond the surface of normal conversational parameters.
To tie it up, we are on the same page, I am also saying [img]graemlins/thumbs_up.gif[/img] to the mods, but extending that those who want to critique is equally [img]graemlins/thumbs_up.gif[/img] ---they can take it! [img]wink.gif[/img]
